Portland Timbers winger Songo'o thrilled with Cameroon call-up

Franck Songo'o is excited about again getting the chance to represent Cameroon after recently receiving a recall to the national team.

The 25-year old Portland Timbers winger last played for the Indomitable Lions in 2010 but is now back in the setup after some good form at MLS level and he admits he is thrilled ahead of the international friendly with Albania in Geneva on November 14.

"I was really happy because I left the group about two years ago, and to be back shows that hard works pays off," the former Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Zaragoza and Real Sociedad man told MLSsoccer.com.

"When you are in (the national team), it is good to be and focus on it. But when you are not, you should just think about your team and play well. And if you deserve it, the call will come.

"At the end of the day, what matters is your team, because if you are good in your team, the call will come naturally.

"I almost made the team for the [2010] World Cup, but it didn't happen. So I'm really happy to be back after two years."
