Portland Timbers technical director Gavin Wilkinson was among five officials from around the world who recently attended a youth academy tournament in Sierra Leone.
Wilkinson joined Swedish agent Patrick Mork, AIK Solna director Jeorge Andersson and scout Jorn Wesstramt and Israel FIFA agent Sharon Halabi at the tournament which was hosted by Sierra Leone FIFA agent Chernor Musa Jalloh.
According to Jalloh, the competition attracted players from all premier league clubs in the country including non-division players.
"This is a big opportunity for young players who have been part of this tournament, as it has been helpful to our players, the likes of Hassan Crespo Kamara was spotted from this tournament," he said.
