MLS expansion franchise Portland Timbers are currently casting an eye over Romanian defender Constantin Arbanas.

The 27-year old, who plays predominantly at right-back, is on trial with the Timbers who are on the lookout for some more defensive strength.

The Timbers Insider posted on their Twitter page that Arbanas was on trial yesterday but it remains to be seen if the club adds him to their roster.

Arbanas kicked off his career with homeland club Gloria Bistrita in 2005 before moving to Sheriff Tiraspol and then onto Azerbaijan Premier League outfit Khazar Lankaran.
