Portland Timbers set up friendly date with Valencia

MLS club Portland Timbers have announced an international friendly with Spanish outfit Valencia CF to be played in May.

The Timbers, in just their second season in North America's top flight, have announced they will meet Los Che at JELD-Wen Field on May 23.

Valencia, who currently sit third on Spain's La Liga table, boast the likes of star striker Roberto Soldado, Argentine midfielder Ever Banega, French defender Adil Rami, La Liga veteran Aritz Aduriz, Brazilian forward Jonas and French winger Jeremy Mathieu amongst others.

They have taken the Spanish title on six occasions and the Copa del Rey seven times with two of those La Liga titles and one cup coming in the past decade.
