Portland Timbers head coach Caleb Porter is still searching for a player to bring in to replace the injured Bright Dike.
The 26-year old Dike could be sidelined for the entire season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament so Porter has brought in Jamaican forward Andre Clennon.
The 23-year old, who is currently with Vietnamese side Lam Dong, could be used as a foil for Dike as well as easing the burden left fellow Jamaican Ryan Johnson who is likely to spend some time away from Portland with his national team.
"We're looking for a guy that brings similar qualities of Bright. We want a player that's fast and strong and brings a physical presence," Porter said. "If we're playing a three-front, we need that in a center striker. Outside of Ryan Johnson, we really don't have that dimension.
"We need another dimension to help our team penetrate. To create a little bit more problems behind the backline. Ryan Johnson brings that, but Ryan's going to be with Jamaica. So when he's gone, we need someone to fit that role."
