Merritt Paulson, owner of MLS expansion franchise Portland Timbers, is looking forward to Wednesday's SuperDraft and expansion draft which is likely to gain the new club some much-needed the exposure.
The fact that the draft is televised has Paulson excited and he is positive that the first or second pick (which will be decided by a coin toss with fellow expansion team Vancouver Whitecaps) will be beneficial for the franchise.
"Knowing that the (SuperDraft) is always on television, we understand the exposure for the organization. However, in the expansion draft -- in the last couple of years -- the first couple of picks have proven to be very beneficial," he told Oregon Live. "We will sit down internally and make a decision on which one we will choose."
