Portland Timbers forward Dike receives Nigeria call

Portland Timbers forward Bright Dike has surprisingly received a call-up to the Nigerian national team.

The 25-year old is in line to make his international debut against Venezuela on Wednesday after manager Stephen Keshi selected him for the Miami fixture.

Dike, who was born in Oklahoma to Nigerian parents, joined the Timbers in April 2010 after not making the grade at Columbus Crew where he was selected in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft.

Since then, he was sent on loan to lower division club Los Angeles Blues but has now managed to get an international call after impressing for the Timbers in the latter half of the 2012 MLS season.
