Portland Timbers boss Porter happy to have ex-West Ham striker Piquionne back
The 34-year old former Saint-Etienne, AS Monaco, Lyon and West Ham United striker has missed the past nine matches with an ankle injury but managed to get on the JELD-WEN Field pitch for a ten-minute cameo.
Piquionne's return clearly thrilled Timbers head coach Caleb Porter who is a fan of what the Frenchman brings to the Portland table.
"Piquionne was our starting striker (at the beginning of the season)," Porter said recently. "He is very good on set pieces and very good in the box."
Portland's win moved them to the top of the Western Conference table and Piquionne's return to the pitch will only add depth to the squad as the MLS playoffs approach.
