Port Vale remain keen on Newcastle United defender Remie Streete.

The Sentinel says the 20-year-old defender impressed on loan at Vale Park after joining in October. However, his second month with the Valiants was cut short when he was recalled by the Premier League club because of injuries.

Streete made clear at the time he was happy at Vale and would have liked to return to Burslem if Newcastle felt they could spare him.

Vale remain admirers of the centre-half, but the situation has been complicated by Alan Pardew's decision to leave Newcastle for Crystal Palace this week.
