Port Vale have dropped their pursuit of Newcastle United defender Remie Streete.

The Sentinel says Port Vale chiefs watched him in action for Newcastle against Arsenal in an under-21 game at Boreham Wood last Monday.

However, plans to sign him on loan were shelved when the player was promoted to Newcastle's first team squad.
