Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt is willing to consider former boss Micky Adams for the current vacancy at the club after his sacking from Sheffield United. Adams quit Vale to take over at his hometown club just five months ago.
Bratt told The Sentinel: "We're looking for a manager, so if he applies for the job he certainly won't be turned away.
"We would look at it seriously, but it would also depend on things like terms and conditions. Of course Micky may not want to come back to the Vale, or he may want to take a rest because he's had a traumatic time at Sheffield United.
"There's no big rush to appoint a new manager at the moment, but it's an interesting development because he's now on the market."
