Port Vale are swooping for Watford striker Uche Ikpeazu.

Ikpeazu is set to join League One side Port Vale on a long-term loan, Valiants manager Rob Page has confirmed.

Page told the Stoke Sentinel: "I think it's a fantastic addition. We just have to cross the 't's' and dot the 'i's on it but we are there with it. It is a done deal and we have got him on a long term loan which is fantastic for us and fantastic for him.

"I have always been a fan of his. I think he showed when he played against us for Crewe that he was a handful and I think we are just a little bit short of that presence up top.

"Don't get me wrong, the boys have done well today but I think he brings something different to the team and I think he is a great addition to the squad."
