Poor form leaves Bury boss Barker on the brink

Bury boss Richie Barker knows he needs to change the Shakers fortunes round quickly if he is to avoid the axe. Barker's side clinched promotion at Chesterfield just five months ago, but return to the B2net Stadium on Tuesday on the back of five successive defeats.

"I am probably running out of time," Barker told the Bury Times.

"I know it sounds a negative thing to say, and it is hard to believe because three weeks ago we had just beaten Sheffield Wednesday.

"But this run of results can't go on forever.

"I don't want to put pressure on myself because I genuinely believe I have worked as hard as I can and done as well as possible under the circumstances, but pressure is part of the game."
