The Scotland national team finds themselves sitting 72nd on FIFA's rankings following a very mediocre 2012.
Two wins in non-competitive matches, three draws and three losses during the calendar year has seen the Scots drop two places to sit behind such countries as Togo, Trinidad & Tobago, Uzbekistan, the Cape Verde Islands, Canada and Sierra Leone.
Scotland's 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign is also in tatters after they drew two and lost two fixtures against Serbia (0-0), Macedonia (1-1), Wales (2-1) and Belgium (2-0) in their opening four Group B outings which brought about the demise of manager Craig Levein.
Still without a permanent boss, Scotland's ranking of 72 in the world sees them come in 32nd in the UEFA zoning ranks.
