Mike Pollitt will sign his new one-year Wigan contract this week.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper, 36, said: "I love it at Wigan. The Premier League is the place to be.
"It's still great to be involved at this level and good to keep working hard. I'm looking forward to the new season and working alongside Chris Kirkland."
