Pohang Steelers have finished third in FIFA's Club World Cup after defeating Mexico's Atlante 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 regular time finish.
The South Korean outfit went ahead in the 42nd minute of the match at Abud Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Stadium when Brazilian striker Denilson scored from 10 yards to give his side the ascendency just prior to the break.
But Atlante drew level when Rafael Marquez Lugo hit the back of the net a minute after half-time and the score remained at 1-1 until the end of regular time.
In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, Pohang triumphed 4-3 when goalkeeper Dong-Jin Song kept out Marquez's spot-kick to hand his side the victory and overall third place in the competition.
In the final, European champions Barcelona fought back from a goal down against Argentina's Estudiantes to eventually win 2-1 thanks to a 110th minute Lionel Messi goal.
