Pavel Pogrebnyak is set to sign a deal with Reading in the next 24 hours or so.
Goal.com reports that the Russian international striker will join the promoted Royals on a package worth around £12million making him the Berkshire clubs highest-ever paid player.
Pogrebnyak is a free agent after his contract with German club Stuttgart expired and is expected to sign a four-year deal believed to be worth £60,000-a-week.
The 28-year old spent the second half of last season on loan with Fulham, scoring six goals in 12 appearances, but could not come to an agreement with the Londoners regarding a permanent move.
Pogrebnyak has passed a medical at the Madejski Stadium and will sign for Reading subject to gaining a work permit, joining fellow countryman Anton Zingarevich who recently took the reins from Sir John Madejski.
