Emanuel Pogatetz is ready to jump ship if Middlesbrough go down.

The Boro skipper says he is tired of relegation battles and wants a new challenge.

Austria defender Pogatetz, away on international duty, said: "I'm 26 years old and want to continue playing at the highest level.

"Should I leave in the summer, it will be for sporting reasons or to go to a club that plays in Europe or one with high ambitions.

"It becomes tiring to fight relegation every season."
