Emanuel Pogatetz is delighted to be wearing the captain's armband for Middlesbrough.
"It's an honour and the first time I've captained a club," the defender told the Evening Gazette. "I captained the national team at youth level a few times but not the senior squad.
"I've always been a young player but now is the first time that I've got the captaincy and it's really nice.
"We need a little bit of leadership and I think that was where I stepped forward last season and this season.
"That's why the gaffer thinks that I can captain the club."
