Pogatetz has big Middlesbrough ambitions

After suffering Euro 2008 heartbreak with Austria, Emanuel Pogatetz has switched his sights back to Middlesbrough and is targeting a minimum of a top 10 finish next season.

Co-hosts Austria were knocked out of the group stages of the European Championships after picking up just one point after a draw with Poland.

And Boro's new skipper is determined to cure his Euro hangover by leading Boro up the table next season.

"Gareth wants to raise the standards at the club and I am committed to helping him in every way I can," the Austrian said.

"The top 10 is possible next season - and I see no reason why we can't go on to do even better than that."
