Emanuel Pogatetz says he will play for Middlesbrough in the Championship next season - but with a warning.

The Boro captain, 26, missed the end of last season with a knee injury and has declined to use the clause in his contract allowing him to leave if relegated.

He said: "I'm going to try to help them go back up, and hope to stay longer if they manage it.

"I'll only leave now if something very good comes up - I feel a sense of duty to the club."
