Manchester United failed with a late bid to trump Arsenal for FC Cologne star Lukas Podolski, it has been revealed.
The Sun on Sunday says the £11million striker snubbed Manchester United.
Although United are the current Premier League champions and Arsenal have not won a trophy for seven years, Podolski was lured to the Emirates by boss Arsene Wenger, who speaks fluent German.
