Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino hopes his side can produce one of their best performances when Manchester City visit on the weekend.

The 16th-placed Saints host the reigning champions at St Mary's on Saturday and Pochettino knows only a top quality showing will yield anything from the clash with Roberto Mancini's men.

"All of our matches are difficult in this division, but we know that Manchester City were the champions last season so we will need to be at our best to beat them," he told the club's official website.

"For me, Manchester City are a great team with great individual players and they can decide a match on their own."
