Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino was proud of his players despite the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup fourth-round tie at Anfield on Tuesday.
The North London club bowed out to a brace from Reds striker Daniel Sturridge, while for the visitors, Dutch striker Vincent Janssen managed to pull one back from the penalty spot.
He told Sky Sports: "Very proud, I think it was a good game, very competitive, and both teams always try to score and win the games.
"But I am a bit disappointed with the result, we created some chances in the second half, but proud of the team.
"It was a good opportunity to give trust in a player who doesn't play much, and a good test for us. I am happy with the performance, the spirit, and stayed competitive and played a really good team.
"The whole team I'm happy with, for different reasons, we have players in different levels."
