Pochettino laments Southampton's attacking inefficiency

Mauricio Pochettino feels his Southampton side needed to be more clinical in front of goal on Sunday.

The Saints were held to a 0-0 draw by West Ham United at St Mary's, producing the better of the chances, only to be denied on a number of occasions by visiting goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Pochettino felt his side deserved victory at home but did rue their lack of efficiency in the final third.

"We created the better chances, we were much closer than they were to actually getting a victory today," he told Sky Sports 1.

"But in football, it is not just about creating chances, you need to be make them into goals. Today we weren't able to do it and we are frustrated by that.

"I am pleased with all of my players - they all played well and put in a great effort today.

"On the one hand, I am a bit frustrated because we didn't get the three points but I'm pleased, as they all played well today."
