Pochettino excited to take charge of Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino is excited taking charge at Tottenham.

The 42-year-old took the reins at White Hart Lane after Tim Sherwood parted company with the club last month.

"For me, it's an absolute honour to be a head coach of such a big club. I am very happy to be here," he told the club's official website.

"We will try to be everything to make you proud of this football club."

Asked whether the players would be forced to undergo the same double sessions that left Saints players wishing they had three lungs, the new boss joked: "Sometimes three but the players don't have to be afraid.

"Our style is demanding sometimes but we use common sense. We demand a lot from them.

"Our style, our philosophies, suffer in the training for it to show during the game but the players don't have to be afraid because we work with common sense all the time.

"We can only expect, from the players, full commitment and a positive attitude."
