Pochettino: CSKA win shows importance of entire Spurs squad

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that his side's 1-0 Champions League win over CSKA Moscow has highlighted the importance of squad depth.

The North London club travelled to Russia without the likes of Harry Kane, Danny Rose, Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko due to respective injuries.

Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier were given starts in full-back roles while summer signing Georges-Kevin N'Koudou and youngster Harry Winks also made important substitute appearances.

"Now you can see all the players are key," Pochettino said after Son Heung-min gave Spurs their first European win of the season.

"That is important to learn about the whole season because you never know when players can become key for the team.

"Maybe I am boring you about that, it is true some players play more than others, but always it is important you need all the players ready to compete.

"Some players in specific moments, that player who has not achieved much can be important for achieving important things."
