Emmanuel Adebayor has been told his time is up at Tottenham as the club seek a solution that would allow him to leave White Hart Lane.
The £100,000-a-week forward rejected the chance to move during the January transfer window and also turned down Spurs' offer of a severance package.
"We want only to fix the problem to find the best solution for both sides," said boss Mauricio Pochettino. "I was very clear with him. We had a conversation before the end of last season. I explained my idea and I don't need to explain too much more.
"He is clear with the situation and it's not a problem for him or us. The situation was clear three or four months ago and today it is his decision to stay here.
"We are always willing to help him. It's not a big problem. We have a good relationship and when we pass each other in the corridor, it's no problem.
"But it's clear he's not in my mind or in the club's for the future of Tottenham. In football we look at the present and at tomorrow, never yesterday. Everything can change in football every day."
