Plymouth players still waiting January pay cheques

Financially challenged Plymouth Argyle have still not paid their players wages for January, according to skipper Carl Fletcher. The Pilgrims were promised cash from Japanese-based directors Yasuaki Kagami and George Synan but there has been no sign of it arriving, and the players have still not received payment more than a week after it was due.

Fletcher told The Herald: "I'm sure a lot of us haven't been in this position before and it's very tough.

"It's your livelihood at the end of the day. It's the roof over your head.

"It's difficult for everyone and, obviously, the results on the pitch aren't taking away any of the troubles off it.

"We have got to get through it together and, hopefully, things can be resolved sooner rather than later."
