Pletikosa given another opportunity to impress Celtic boss

Celtic boss Neil Lennon wants another look at keeper Stipe Pletikosa after a quiet trial match against Cardiff. The Croatia international was a virtual spectator as Celtic secured a 1-0 friendly win at the Cardiff City Stadium thanks to a first-half header from Anthony Stokes.

Lennon is looking for someone to compete with Lukasz Zaluska for the number one jersey with Dominic Cervi currently the understudy following Fraser Forster's return to Newcastle.

And Pletikosa looks set to get another chance in one of the four friendlies Celtic play following their Clydesdale Bank Premier League opener against Hibernian on Sunday.

Lennon said: "The keeper didn't have a lot to do and it would be difficult to sign him on the evidence of that but be will have another look. A short-term contract is a possibility.

"I want another goalkeeper - we've only got two at the moment. In any scenario I want to bring another goalkeeper in."
