The managerial vacancy at ChampionshipBarnsley has already attracted 20 applications, reports director Don Rowing. The Tykes plan to start interviewing candidates to succeed Mark Robins next week, with the Yorkshire club attracting interest from managers in Italy and France.
Rowing told the The Star: "We've had a lot of interest in the position, we've had around 20 applicants so far.
"There's a real sprinkling of managers with Championship experience down to the lower leagues.
"But we've also had interest from foreign managers. We've got applications from France and Italy.
"It's very early days but we're pleased with the interest we've had so far."
