Barnet player-manager Edgar Davids intends to take the No1 shirt for the new season.

The former Tottenham, Barcelona and Juventus star was spotted with the number on his back during Saturday's 4-1 friendly defeat by MK Dons.

Davids confirmed that he will the No 1 shirt for their campaign in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

He told Barnet Times: "That is my number for the season. I am going to start this trend."
