Platt to succeed Kidd as Man City No2

David Platt is set to succeed Brian Kidd as Manchester City assistant manager.

The Mirror says Platt is set to become Manchester City's official No.2, as Kidd will step down at the end of the season.

Kidd, whose current title is assistant manager to City boss Roberto Mancini, is ready to leave in the summer after two-and-a-half years at the club.

Platt, who is officially first-team coach, will be promoted to the role of Mancini's right-hand man.
