Platt insists Lescott has Man City future

Manchester City coach David Platt insists defender Joleon Lescott is a required player.

The former Everton man has lost his starting spot to new signing Matija Nastasic and was not even on the bench for the goalless draw at Chelsea last weekend.

Platt said: "There's nothing sinister.

"It is not picked on form or ability, or anything like that, but is a strategic thing."
