Platini again dismisses use of video evidence

UEFA president Michel Platini reiterated he opposition to the introduction of video technology in football.

His comments come following the controversy that was caused by France's World Cup qualifying play-off win over Ireland. Thierry Henry's handball offence was a potentially decisive factor in the match.

The Frenchman however is keen to push through with experiments that are being pioneered in the Europa League, in which extra officials stand behind the goal to help referees and their assistants.

"An extra referee behind the goal would have seen Henry's handball," Platini told L'Equipe.

"Video replays on the pitch? It's a bad solution. We talk about big games, but could we really have 20 cameras in a match between Andorra and the Faroe Islands?

"We must respect fairness in all occasions."

"We must respect fairness in all occasions." This is the twat that has said he'd have dived to win a penalty as a player, which in fact he did. Harald Schumacher fixed your ass, great world cup moment has become my favourite.

not a french or irish fan but im with video evidence, cuts out the stupid controversies but people have agendas what can u do

shut the ***** up you Irish fans, Henry did not score with hand and probably not the only player who has touched his hand on ball before and the ref said play on. so get it into your heads that you have lost and that is it, remember that what you did with France and Henry was a game and not a business. so stop blabbing and accept defeat.
