Personal issues in Peru are likely to see Claudio Pizarro remain a Chelsea player as he struggles to agree terms for a permanent deal with German club Werder Bremen where he is currently on loan.
Reports suggest that Pizarro has been accused of embezzlement along with his agent and business partner and Bremen are reluctant to offer the talented forward a new deal.
"From a sporting and personal point of view we would like keep Claudio but we have to await the outcome of the investigation in Peru," Werder sports director Klaus Allofs said.
"We cannot put ourselves outside of the law."
