Pizarro: I joined Chelsea to win Champions League

Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro admits he moved to Stamford Bridge to win the Champions League.

The 28-year-old scored against Birmingham on his home debut on Sunday and is determined to help them win back the Premier League title from Manchester United, although European glory is also on his mind.

Chief executive Peter Kenyon has stated that Champions League success would take the club to the next level, and Pizarro believes winning the trophy this season is a possibility.

"I think this team has lots of potential to win trophies and I want as many as possible," said the Peru captain.

"Obviously the most important things are the Premier League and the Champions League. Winning the Champions League is one of my ambitions and I couldn't do it at Bayern.

"We have lots of good players at Chelsea and we have a really good chance of winning it."
