Newcastle Jets will be back on their home pitch to take on Adelaide United this weekend after the turf at EnergyAustralia Stadium was re-laid.
A motorcross event on October 16 caused the playing surface plenty of damage, forcing the club and NSW Government to seek a pitch replacement.
The Jets October 27 clash with North Queensland Fury had to be postponed whilst the Week 12 fixture four days later with Melbourne Heart had to be shifted to Port Macquarie but things are now looking good for this weekend.
"There's been cross sewing and dressing to it and that will just continue to strengthen the field," said Jets spokesman Richard Fisk.
"But really it was the way it was laid down and the way management structured all of the grass rebuild that it really wasn't needing much else other than the nature with the sun and rain."
And with the exhibition match with MLS club LA Galaxy coming up at the end of the month, Fisk said the pitch would be in perfect condition to host the likes of David Beckham and Landon Donovan.
"The field looks in first rate condition for Saturday night and of course a fortnight out before the big LA Galaxy game so not a question that the field will be OK for that one," he added.
