Italian icon Andrea Pirlo has revealed how he could've gone to Barcelona as part of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's move to AC Milan.

Manchester United striker Ibrahimovic endured one season at Barca before leaving for Milan in 2011.

Pirlo recalled to Sky Italia: "There were negotiations with Barcelona about Ibrahimovic - and I was the player who would have gone the other way.

"Eventually it was solved and Ibra only came to Milan. It would certainly have been a nice experience, but I was happy in Milan.

"I will never know if I would actually have accepted to go to Barcelona."
