Villarreal are ready to open new contract talks with Robert Pires.

The 35 year-old former Arsenal midfielder is a free agent in June and wanted by several clubs back home in France.

However, indications are that Villarreal president Fernando Roig will seek to secure Pires to a new 12-month deal in the coming weeks.
