The Invincibles star was on the scoresheet as Arsenal defeated Milan Glorie 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium on the weekend but was more thrilled to have been part of an event that will help raise money for developments in Jordan, Somalia and London.
"It was the first objective," Pires told Arsenal.com. "We play for the Arsenal Foundation, so the most important thing was to raise a lot of money for this foundation because they want to build some pitches in other countries.
"We are retired so the most important thing is, if you can, to help the people - especially the children. That's why we played. I thank the fans for coming in and I thank the Milan Glorie players because it was not easy with the way they work. It was a great event for Arsenal and especially the fans. I'm very happy."
