Arsenal legend Robert Pires has likened new Aston Villa teammate Barry Bannan to Jack Wilshere.
The 37-year-old former Gunners star agreed a six-month deal with Villa, snubbing interest from Sven Goran Eriksson at Leicester City, to return to the top flight after four years.
Pires, who left Villarreal in the summer and has been training with Arsenal, said: "Arsenal have good reserves but they have very, very good young players here.
"It's good for the future. Bannan and Jack Wilshere have similar skill levels. They have good quality and good vision.
"For Arsenal and Villa this is good news and I hope it is for England as well because I saw the game on Wednesday. Sorry, guys."
