The chairman of Pirelli, Marco Tronchetti Provera, has declared Inter Milan want to hold onto Adriano.

Responding to AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi's comments that he'd welcome Adriano to his club in January, Tronchetti, who has a place on Inter's board, said: "It's better that he remains with Inter.

"He's a young person going through a critical phase in his life. I hope he has the strength to overcome this moment."
