Piquionne promises West Ham boss Grant goals

Frederic Piquionne believes he will get goals for his new club West Ham. The Frenchman has been reunited with Avram Grant after joining West Ham from Lyon.

The 31-year-old worked with the Israeli coach at Portsmouth last season on a year-long loan deal at Fratton Park.

He did enough during that spell to convince Grant that he is capable of competing in the Premier League after scoring 11 goals in all competitions.

Piquionne is now looking to better that return in 2010/11, despite admitting his limitations.

"My best characteristics are I'm good in the air, I'm quick and I try to keep the ball," he said.

"I'm not the most prolific striker, like maybe Fernando Torres or Wayne Rooney, but I think I can score many goals.

"I know English football now and I can score more goals than ever before."
