Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has had a pop at the club's celebrated 'tiki-taka' style of play. Dubbed 'tippy-tappy' by their critics, Pique says the style became millstone around the neck of the players before Tata Martino's arrival this season.

"The club was a slave to tiki-taka. If we are struggling, hitting a couple of long balls is not bad, it changes the game, gives you oxygen, then we squeeze, they have no way out.

"Tata has ideas that are very, very positive. In football you have to improve each year, develop, eventually people get to know how you play."
