Gerard Pique admits he thought he had made a big mistake when he first signed with Manchester United.

The Spanish defender told DiarioSport: "I had never left home before and arrived in Manchester where it rained all the time, my English was not too good, I knew nothing and the food was terrible.

"Well, what can I say? I looked at myself in the mirror and said 'Gerard, what have you done?'

"But I soon became happier. The family I lived with were great, as were my teammates, who came from all over the world."
