Piorkowski leaving Melbourne Victory for Euro chance

Daniel Piorkowski looks set to become the next Australian to play abroad with hopes of snaring a contract with an overseas club.

Piorkowski sees his time in the A-League with the Victory as only fond memories. He said, "I've had a great time at Victory, the coaching staff and everyone here has been really good to me."

The defender will travel to Europe with his Polish passport and hopefully realise a long-term goal.

"It's time to move on, have a crack overseas and fulfil a dream that's been strong for me, so we'll see what works out."

"I want to explore playing in Europe and not die wondering."

Victory football operations manager Gary Cole confirmed the move, saying, "He's got ambitions to play overseas and opportunities to go and trial and we wish him well."
