Stefano Pioli has been named new coach of Chievo Verona.
Piolo succeeds Mimmo di Carlo, who left Chievo for Sampdoria a fortnight ago.
The 44-year-old tactician secured his release from Sassuolo yesterday after they were knocked out of the Serie B play-offs..
"I am really happy to join Chievo," Pioli said. "It's a big chance for me and I didn't expect it, even though I always hoped..
"Sassuolo gave me a lot. I did a good job, but I am here today thanks to that club and those players so I want to thank them all."
