Erik Pieters admits talking to several Holland teammates before making the move to Stoke City.

The former PSV Eindhoven defender moved to the Potters last month.

"I have many friends here and I have spoken to them before I signed for Stoke," revealed Pieters.

"Tim Krul of Newcastle United is my best friend and then there are also Robin van Persie, Ricky van Wolfswinkel and three or four at Swansea City. I want to play against those guys, it will be very challenging."
