Steven Pienaar is demanding &poound;60,000-a-week to stay with Everton, it has been revealed.

The Mirror says Pienaar has given Everton until the end of the season to meet his £60,000-a-week wage demands.

Negotiations between Pienaar and the club over a new deal are deadlocked over his insistence that he is given parity with top earners Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill at Goodison Park.

Everton are reluctant to agree to the winger's request because the £12million deal over four years would blow a huge hole in David Moyes' summer transfer budget.

Liverpool and Tottenham are among clubs monitoring developments.
